Chicken Soup For The Chocolate Bride’s Soul
Have you been over to the messageboard yet? I must admit, it may seem a little intimidating when you first log on. It’s over a 1.4 million posts about wedding dresses, flowers, limos, meddling mother-in-laws and RSVP frustration. But if you look a little bit deeper, in between the concrete wedding talk, you will find some of the most insightful, encouraging comfortable words of wisdom for any bride who is planning a wedding. It really is amazing. But please, don’t take my word for it. Go experience it for yourself. Register & dive in head first. You won’t be disappointed.
Today’s jewel comes from Val aka Epiphany1969 who is jumping the broom on New Years Day, 2010. Take this and let it marinate.
Even my practical, previously “anti-wedding” self gets upset and frustrated sometimes that I can’t throw a full-on affair with drinks and appetizers flowing… wait, I take that back. I COULD do it, but looking at my financial future I choose not to. And it is so tempting sometimes to launch into pity party and “why can’t I?”
But when I prayed those years ago, I didn’t pray for an amazing wedding. I didn’t pray for some super huge party that folks would talk about for years. I asked God to give me someone who would love me like I needed to be loved. I asked Him for a happy, close family. I asked Him to make my home a place I love to be and that I can’t wait to come home to.
He gave me all of that – so what is there to make drama about? I already have my dream right now. The wedding is just the icing.

LOVE IT!
This post gave me goose pimples! Love it!
